About Featured
These frames require more than just a good camera; they demand patience, an understanding of animal behavior, and the right technical choices in the field. Whether I am tracking a tiger in Pilibhit or focusing on the compound eyes of a dragonfly at Sunder Nursery, the goal is always to reveal the details often missed by the naked eye. Mastering these shots is about learning to anticipate the moment before it happens and knowing your gear well enough to react instantly.
Nature is rarely static, and capturing it effectively is a blend of science and art. My work in this gallery spans from macro photography, where lighting and focus stacking are everything, to larger wildlife subjects that require rapid autofocus and panning techniques.
The Field Experience
Photography is my primary tool for conservation. When I photograph a Red-billed Leiothrix in Sattal or a Spotted Owlet in Bhondsi, I am not just creating an image. I am documenting biodiversity and sharing facts about these species to help others connect with them.
Skills You Can Learn
Many of the images here were taken during the exact sessions I teach in my workshops. We focus on practical skills that make a real difference in the field:
- Macro Photography: Understanding depth of field and natural light management to make tiny subjects stand out.
- Birding Techniques: Learning how to track birds in flight using back-button focus and mastering exposure for different plumage types.
- Fieldcraft: Approaching wildlife respectfully, using camouflage, and knowing the behavior patterns of local species like the Indian Cobra or Shikra.
I believe the best way to learn is by doing. Whether you are using a Nikon system or an OM-1, my workshops are designed to get you off Auto mode and into a mindset where you observe, identify, and then click. We avoid technical jargon where possible, preferring instead to show you how to set up your gear for the specific conditions of our Delhi-NCR biodiversity parks.
