About Wildlife & Nature Photography

Why I Photograph Nature

I always feel nature hides its best stories. Butterflies can't see their own wings, but we can. I try to show you all those small and big moments through my lens - whether it's a tiger walking through grass or a bird taking a bath. Photography is my way to connect with the wild and a nudge to everyone to care about it.

What I Capture

  • Most of my work is about Indian wildlife - I chase after the big ones like tigers in Ranthambore and Corbett, leopards, elephants, and even sloth bears in the rains.
  • Birding keeps me hooked - from Shikra and Spotted Owlets to colourful Navrang (Indian Pitta), Neelkanth (Indian Roller), Kurjan (Demoiselle Crane) and Kala Teetar (Black Francolin). I love catching their quirks and colours.
  • Lately, I've been obsessed with macro insect shots - dragonflies, butterflies, and tiny creatures that you usually miss.

How I Work

Wildlife photography is mostly waiting - jungle safaris, foggy mornings in Dhikala, hot afternoons in Rajasthan. Patience is key. Sometimes it's hours for one frame. Every photo has its own story - an elephant blocking my path or two antelopes fighting.

Where I Shoot

My field office is all over India:

  • Rajasthan (Ranthambore, Jhalana, Tal Chappar)
  • Uttarakhand (Corbett, Rajaji, Sattal)
  • Uttar Pradesh (Pilibhit, Dhanauri, Surajpur)
  • Haryana & Delhi (Sultanpur, Bhondsi, Asola Bhati)
  • Madhya Pradesh (Chambal Sanctuary)

Why It Matters

I hope my nature conservation images make you pause and care a little more. If we see the beauty, we might just save it. My camera is just one part - the real job is protecting our wild spaces.

My Story

PGahlot Photography here. You’ll usually find me wandering wild places with my Nikon, chasing everything from tigers to tiny bugs. Macro shots? That’s my jam, especially after the Scarlet Skimmer dragonfly at Sunder Nursery blew my mind. I think nature hides its beauty, just like butterflies can’t see their own wings. I love sharing this magic—so I run free photo walks, mentor folks, and just try to spark that same wonder in others.
