Sketchbook & Doodles: My Daily Drawing Practice
This is where I stop worrying about perfection and just let the pencil move. From quick eye studies to rough character drafts, this is a look inside my sketchbook.
A quick portrait sketch in my doodle diary. I focus on capturing the structure of the face and a simple expression with loose lines.
More doodles from my sketchbook. These are quick gesture drawings and character studies that help me warm up and generate new ideas.
Some character studies in my sketchbook. I enjoy practicing different face shapes and styles, from realistic to more stylized.
A page full of eye sketches. The eyes are one of my favorite things to draw, and I'm always practicing different shapes, styles, and expressions.
A line art drawing of vampire lips in my sketchbook, surrounded by my markers and pens. I plan to add color to this later.
Another angle of the vampire lips line art. Sketching out ideas first is an important part of my creative process before starting a final piece.
About Sketchbook & Doodles
In my sketchbook, I don't aim for finished masterpieces. These pages are where I work on muscle memory—like repeating eye shapes or testing line weights with micron pens—before I ever pick up a final canvas. It’s messy, but it’s the only way I learn and improve.
Think of this sketchbook as my visual diary. When I'm not working, I’m usually sitting in my Delhi home studio, sketching to keep my mind clear. This is the raw stuff—no pressure, no filters, just lines.
Why Practice in a Sketchbook?
People often ask how to get better at drawing, and the answer is usually just 'draw more.' My sketchbook is where I test out new techniques before teaching them in my online classes. You will see studies of human anatomy, different eye shapes, and character design ideas here.
My Toolkit
I use a mix of basic and artist-grade tools. You'll see work done with Faber-Castell pencils, Staedtler graphite, and micron pens. I don't believe you need expensive gear to start—I often use simple makeup brushes to blend graphite. If you look closely at these pages, you can see where I experiment with blending stumps to get those soft transitions right.
Can You Learn This?
Absolutely. Whether you are struggling with shading or just want to understand how to hold your pencil to get a clean line, we can start right here. I teach everything from the basics of 3D forms like spheres and cubes to advanced manga anatomy. We start at ground zero, celebrate the small wins, and move forward. If you like the vibe of these doodles and want to learn how to draw, send me a message. We can start with a 45-minute basics session and see how it goes.
