My Art Portfolio & Creative Process
From hyperrealistic pencil portraits to digital sketches, this is a look at my work, my messy desk, and the progress I make every single day.
This is the magic of starting with a blank page. Watch how I build up layers of graphite to create this detailed Medusa portrait, focusing on shading and texture to make the drawing feel alive.
It all starts with practice. This video shows how mastering basic shapes and shading directly translates into creating complex, realistic portraits. Progress is the goal, not perfection.
Here, I'm working on a hyperrealistic pencil drawing, paying close attention to the texture of sand on skin. Learning to draw different textures is a key skill I teach in my classes.
A finished portrait of Power from Chainsaw Man, created using a mix of alcohol markers and colored pencils. This piece shows how we can apply realistic techniques to anime and fan art.
A timelapse of a colored pencil eye drawing. I'll show you how to blend colors smoothly and add those tiny details that make your artwork pop with life.
Exploring digital art on the iPad. This is a quick sketch of a realistic eye using Procreate, a great tool for artists who want to draw anywhere, anytime.
This snowy landscape painting took about three hours to complete. In my acrylic classes, I teach how to create depth and atmosphere, from the mountains in the back to the reflections in the water.
About this collection
Whether I am blending graphite for a realistic portrait or playing with alcohol markers for anime art, my focus is always on the process, not just the final result. You don't need a professional studio to start—my own home workspace is proof that you can create magic with just a few pencils and a lot of patience. If you're looking to learn, we will skip the gatekeeping and focus on practical techniques like shading, color theory, and finding your own artistic flow.
My Approach
I believe art should be therapy. My journey started as an escape from the daily corporate grind, and I’ve learned that the most important part of drawing is simply showing up. You’ll see in my work that I experiment a lot—some days it's hyperrealism, other days it's just a doodle in my sketchbook.
What We Can Explore
When you book a class with me, we aren't just following a strict, boring syllabus. We can cover:
- The Basics: If you're starting from scratch, we'll master pencil grip, light sources, and shading geometry.
- Hyperrealism: I'll show you how I use makeup brushes and blending stumps to get those smooth skin textures.
- Anime & Digital: We can dive into character design or learn how to use Procreate effectively on the iPad.
Why Learn With Me?
I don't promise that you'll be a master in a day. We will have sessions where things don't go according to plan—sometimes the background gets messy, and that's okay. We celebrate the 3h ki mehnat (3 hours of hard work) and the small wins along the way. I use standard tools like Prismacolor pencils, Ohuhu markers, and Micron pens, and I'll help you understand how to use yours. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your portraits, I'm here to help you get better, session by session.
Vishal
Hi, I'm Vishal. I'm an artist navigating the corporate world, using drawing as my primary escape and therapy. I love teaching what I've learned through hours of trial and error, so let's skip the perfection and just make some art together.
