Art is my therapy, and these colorful creations are my way of clearing my head. I use Prismacolor pencils and Ohuhu markers to explore everything from hyperrealistic textures to anime fan art. Take a look at my sketchbook journey.

A super quick timelapse of a realistic eye drawing using colored pencils. This shows how to layer different colors to create depth and a glossy, wet look in the eye.

A study of two different colored eyes, one blue and one green. This was great practice for blending skin tones and capturing the unique details of each eye.

A sketchbook entry with two stylized eye drawings using markers. This is a fun way to play with color and expression without the pressure of a full portrait.

A fun little drawing of a chocolate covered strawberry using markers and colored pencils. This kind of object study is great for practicing light, shadow, and texture.

A drawing of vampire lips, created with markers. I focused on creating a glossy, sharp look, which is a fun style to explore.

My first attempt at a colored pencil portrait. I used Prismacolor pencils to capture the freckles and hair texture, learning a lot in the process.

A few quick studies of eyes and lips using colored markers. These small drawings are perfect for warming up and experimenting with color combinations.

Celebrating a milestone with a drawing of foil balloons. This was a fun challenge to capture the metallic shine and reflections using only colored pencils and markers.

A portrait of Kitagawa from My Dress Up Darling, combining a graphite base with pops of color in the eyes and nails. This is a great example of mixed media work.

The workspace while drawing the Power portrait. You can see the color swatches I use to plan my drawing and the different markers and pencils I use for layering.

About Colorful Creations: Markers & Pencils

Using alcohol markers like Ohuhu often means managing streaks is half the battle. I spend a lot of time layering to get that smooth, gradient finish, especially when working on skin tones or anime eyes. If you have ever felt like your markers are blending into a mess, it usually just comes down to using the right Bristol paper and having the patience to build up your colors slowly.
