About Turning Photos into Art
Ever wonder how to capture someone's vibe with just a marker and paper? I keep it real simple. I set my phone up with your reference photo right next to my drawing board, so you can see every stroke I make to get those eyes, noses, and expressions just right. No fancy tricks, just honest practice.
My process is straightforward. We start with the basics, using a thick black marker on standard A4 bond paper. No erasers, no stress. I teach you to look at a face and find the 'hero' feature, maybe it is a bulbous nose or distinct curly hair, that makes the person who they are.
We break down the face structure into simple U-shapes or V-shapes. It is not about perfect anatomy, it is about character. When you watch my tutorials, you see the photo and my sketch side-by-side. You can pause, rewind, and draw along until you get the hang of it. Whether you are working on a portrait of a friend or a random face from the internet, the technique stays the same. Start by focusing on the eyes and the expression, then build the rest around it. If you get stuck, that is what the live 1-on-1 sessions are for, where I can correct your strokes in real time. It is all about practice, yaar.
