The story behind our handmade terrazzo designs

What you see on the surface is only half the journey. Take a look behind the scenes at how we turn raw concrete and stone into pieces that grow with your home.

It started with a shared love for natural materials. Param came from footwear design, I came from fashion. We connected over sketches and ideas, and six years ago, Parman Designs was born from our passion for concrete and terrazzo.

Our first order was for 50 concrete planters. We were so excited, we delivered them in our own car. When 20 arrived broken, we were devastated but replaced them in three days. That experience taught us about resilience and customer trust, and it's how we began.

It all starts with curiosity. One day, we poured concrete into a juice box just to see what would happen. That simple experiment reinforced our love for natural materials and inspired us to keep exploring the aesthetic possibilities of concrete and terrazzo.

Good design takes time. Some of our most intricate concrete and terrazzo pieces took three to six months to perfect. We spend months rethinking and refining to translate delicate, organic concepts into solid, structural forms without losing their fluidity.

People ask how our furniture is different. We don't just sell furniture, we sell art pieces that tell a story. Clients come to us for flooring and discover a world of possibilities, creating pieces that are deeply connected to their memories and their homes.

We don't sell furniture, we sell something you can feel. Our pieces evoke memories of the terrazzo floors in your 'purana ghar' (old home). We recreate that feeling, that connection, because our brand's motto is to create love, life, and memories.

We don't follow trends. Terrazzo is a natural material that is made for ages. It was here, it is here, and it will be here. When you buy a terrazzo piece, you are buying a lifelong product that grows with you and becomes part of your story.

About this collection

We don't just pour concrete and leave it to set. Every piece you see here represents months of sampling, grinding, and refining, often involving intense, honest debates between us regarding texture and pigment. It is a slow, tactile process that turns a simple stone chip or marble aggregate into a functional piece of art meant to stay in your home for decades.

It started with a question. Param and I came from the worlds of fashion and footwear, not construction. We were drawn together by a simple curiosity about how nature-inspired raw materials—stone, pigment, and concrete—could be manipulated to create lasting objects. Our first major order of 50 planters was a disaster—20 broke in transit—but that experience became our masterclass in resilience and customer commitment. We learned that while concrete looks raw and sturdy, it demands immense precision.

Whether it is a kitchen countertop, a seamless floor, or a sculptural basin, our process remains consistent. We source natural aggregates like marble and granite chips, mix them with high-grade cement, and pour them into custom molds. Then comes the real work: days of curing, followed by high-grit grinding and sealing to ensure the finish is waterproof and food-safe.

We don’t follow design trends. Terrazzo has been around for centuries, and our goal is to create pieces that survive the passing fads. We see our work as an extension of your home’s memory, often referencing the terrazzo floors in old Indian homes that people associate with their childhoods. By infusing details like brass inlays or experimenting with 3D fluted textures, we bridge that nostalgia with modern durability. When you choose a piece from us, you aren't just buying furniture; you are investing in a lifelong material that changes and matures with your space.
