Snacking doesn’t mean compromising. I will show you how to swap fried cravings for nourishing, nutrient-dense bites you can easily whip up at home.

Instead of fried dahi bhallas, try this nourishing and delicious makhana chaat. It's a healthy way to enjoy the festive flavors of Holi without compromising on your health goals.

Here is a makhana chaat I prepared for guests, served in wine glasses for a fun presentation. The fox nuts are roasted in desi ghee and mixed with spices, nuts, and a little grated cheese for extra protein.

Groundnuts, or peanuts, are an easy and healthy snack option. This simple peanut chaat with chopped onion, tomato, and fresh coconut is rich in protein, healthy fats, and micronutrients.

A handful of mixed nuts and seeds is a great snack to have when hunger strikes. It's rich in healthy fats, fiber, and micronutrients like zinc from pumpkin seeds. Plus, it's easy to carry with you anywhere.

These homemade nut laddoos are a perfect healthy treat. Made with roasted almonds, cashews, peanuts, and sesame seeds, they are bound with ghee. I also make a high-protein version by adding whey protein powder.

This is my homemade Gud Gajak, a nourishing winter sweet. It's made with roasted brown sesame seeds, nuts, desi ghee, and unrefined jaggery. Making it at home means I can control the amount of sweetness.

This is my healthier take on Mango Shrikhand. I mix mango pulp with Greek yogurt and cream, then garnish with nuts and soaked chia seeds. This adds protein and healthy fats, which helps to lower the glycemic load of the dessert.

About this collection

Forget buying 'diet' packs from the store. Most of them are loaded with seed oils and hidden sugars that spike your blood sugar. In my workshops, we focus on balancing your metabolic health by choosing the right fuel. We swap refined flour crackers for homemade avocado dips or use roasted fox nuts (makhana) as a base for chaat. You learn to control every ingredient, which is the only real way to snack without guilt.

Many people ask me, 'Pramila, what do I eat when the 4 PM hunger hits?' The answer is simple: stop snacking on processed carbohydrates. Real snacks should nourish, not just fill space.

Why Your Kitchen is the Best Deli

When you control your ingredients, you control your health. I help you move away from packet snacks and towards:

  • Protein-rich bites: Think makhana chaat roasted in desi ghee, or nut laddoos bound with dates rather than refined sugar. We even explore high-protein variants using whey for those who need an extra boost.
  • Healthy Fats: Using seeds, nuts, and healthy fats like avocado or Greek yogurt keeps you satiated for hours. These are not just toppings; they are the foundation of a balanced snack.
  • Seasonal Swaps: Using local produce like fresh mangoes paired with protein (yogurt/chia) creates a dessert that doesn't cause a sugar crash. We utilize traditional winter foods like Gud Gajak, made with unrefined jaggery, to keep your body warm and nourished.

Hands-on Myth Busting

My sessions in Adarsh Palm Retreat aren't just demos. We talk about why we combine certain ingredients. For example, why does adding nuts to a sweet treat lower its glycemic load? How do we use fermented drinks like Kanji as a probiotic, refreshing snack base?

Whether you join my small group sessions or we cook in your home, you will walk away with recipes that prioritize your HbA1c levels and overall energy. Cooking should be a joy, a time to bond with family, and a way to build healthy memories that last. If you are ready to replace pill-popping with healthy habits, let’s get into the kitchen.
