About Interactive Storytelling Adventures
Our sessions happen every Friday, moving beyond simple narration to include puppetry, expressive character voices, and follow-up activities like sensory play or crafts. We intentionally keep our groups intimate to ensure every child gets a chance to participate, ask questions, and contribute their own ideas to the story.
Beyond the Page
At Ourstoryshelf, stories are not meant to be passively consumed. We select books from authors like Julia Donaldson and combine them with dynamic narration techniques. When we read a tale about a giant or a sea animal, we use puppets and dramatic voices to place the children right inside the narrative. Parents are often welcome to join in, especially for younger toddlers, making it a shared experience. You will often see children leaving with paint-stained hands or a story they are eager to recount at home.
Why Fridays Matter
We host our storytelling events on Fridays because it is the perfect time for children to unwind after a school week. It is not just about the book; it is about the transformation that happens afterward. Whether it is paper-bag monkey crafts or coloring activities linked to the day's theme, we provide the materials and the space for kids to process the lesson, be it kindness, courage, or empathy, in their own way.
A Space for Curiosity
Our Rustam Bagh library is designed as a child-centric lounge. We have floor mats, bean bags, and low shelves, removing the classroom pressure. This environment encourages children to be messy, loud, and free, which we believe is essential for true engagement. Whether you are looking for a weekend activity or a regular creative outlet, our sessions provide a stable, welcoming community for curious young minds.
Ourstoryshelf
We are a community library dedicated to helping children discover the magic of books beyond the classroom. Our space in Rustam Bagh is built for messy hands, big laughs, and kids who want to explore stories with friends.
