About Storytelling & Creative Play Workshops
What We Do
At Ourstoryshelf, I see stories as adventures waiting to happen. Kids don’t just listen - they jump right in. Each workshop is built around interactive story sessions for kids, making characters leap off the page and into our cozy library space.
How a Session Unfolds
- We kick off by gathering on mats and diving into a themed story - sometimes Gajapati Kulapati, sometimes The Singing Mermaid.
- Kids join the fun - roaring, singing, answering silly questions, even doing easy yoga moves or balancing acts linked to the story.
- After the story, it’s time for creative play activities for children: crafting, painting, sometimes even cooking or sensory play. Everyone goes home with something they made themselves.
What Makes Us Special
- Puppets, props, and story boxes add an extra spark. Sometimes we use shadow puppets or even Kamishibai (Japanese story box) - trust me, kids are always wide-eyed.
- The library’s informal, laid-back vibe means children (and parents, if they like) can relax and just be themselves.
- Story picks are never random; I choose tales that gently talk about friendship, kindness, emotions, and being yourself. Emotional development through stories is at the heart of what we do.
Quick Facts
- Best for ages 3 and up, with sessions lasting about an hour.
- Usually on Fridays, with occasional Saturday specials.
- Parents are always welcome to join the fun.

My Story
Hey, we’re Ourstoryshelf. Our little library is all about stories that spark magic. We love seeing kiddos get lost in enchanting tales, faces glowing, sometimes covered in paint or a bit of mud. Not just reading – we want them to feel, imagine, and learn about friendship and honesty. It’s a place for messy hands, big laughs, and letting kids just be themselves.
My Work
What We Offer - We run interactive storytelling for kids, plus hands-on crafts, painting, and mud play activities.
