About Belt Examinations: A Journey of Achievement
The grading examination is the moment when months of diligent practice, kata, and kumite drills are put to the test. It is not just about earning a new color belt; it is a formal assessment of a student's focus, technical precision, and mental readiness, conducted under strict instructor supervision.
At OSK Academy, we view belt examinations as a rite of passage. Whether a student is moving from white to yellow or approaching advanced levels, each grading requires them to demonstrate their mastery of Okinawa Shorin-Ryu techniques in front of our coaching panel.

The Examination Experience
We host these exams in a formal, structured environment, often in local community halls equipped with safety mats. Students are expected to arrive in their proper Gi (uniform) and perform a series of:
- Kata (Forms): To show technical accuracy and memory.
- Kumite (Sparring): To demonstrate control and reaction time.
- Physical Conditioning: To prove they have the strength required for the next level.
What Happens After
Passing the exam is a proud moment for our students. Every successful participant is awarded an official certificate and the right to wear their new belt.
