Stop chasing machine-based isolation movements that don't translate to real life. My strength programming at OctaFit centers on compound, multi-joint lifts like squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses because that is how your body functions outside this gym. You won't find a single weight machine here because machines dictate your range of motion; I believe you should be the one in control.
Why We Don't Do Machines
Most commercial gyms are filled with machines that turn off your core stability and limit your movement to a fixed path. At OctaFit, we use free weights—Olympic barbells, bumper plates, and kettlebells—that force you to stabilize the load. This is the definition of functional strength: building a body that is resilient, coordinated, and capable of moving through any challenge you face in the real world.
What Training Looks Like Here
