Forget the tourist traps and manicured garden paths. I will show you exactly how Robusta coffee is grown, processed, and brewed right here at my Manchalli estate. No fluff, just the real, gritty process of life on a working plantation.

This is what hands-on looks like. I'm sitting on a fresh pile of our Robusta coffee beans as they begin the drying process, a critical step in developing their flavor. You can see the hard work happening right here, with the mountains as our constant backdrop.

Here’s a look at the real grind of coffee farming. This is us setting up irrigation pipes and sprinklers, a crucial job to trigger the flowering of the coffee plants. It's hours of tough, functional work that leads to the coffee in your cup 10 months later.

A quick drive through the estate after heavy rains to check on the coffee saplings. As a planter, I have to constantly adapt to the weather. This is a real, unfiltered look at the daily life of managing a coffee plantation.

The perfect end to a day on the plantation. Here, I'm sharing a freshly brewed cup of our single estate Robusta with guests as we take a sunset walk. This is what my ecotourism experience is all about: sharing the process and the product.

Finding joy in the little things, like checking on the coffee cherries as they grow. This is a quiet moment of connection with the plants that form the heart of my work as a coffee farmer in Coorg.

Sharing a cup of black coffee with friends right here on the estate. This is the ultimate reward: enjoying the final product of our hard work together, right where it was grown.

Is coffee good for you? Yes, in moderation. In this video, I explain how one or two cups of black coffee can boost metabolism and alertness, but overdoing it can cause anxiety. It's all about balance.

About this collection

This isn’t a manicured garden stroll for tourists. You’re stepping onto a working Manchalli farm where things are raw and real. When you join me, we’re looking at the actual labor involved—the irrigation setups, the technical salt-water fermentation, and the 10-month wait for cherries to ripen. It is hard work, but that is exactly what makes the final cup taste better.

Most people only know coffee as a drink. Here, you get the full story of what happens before the beans hit the roaster. I take you through the Brahmagiri mountains to see the Robusta plants I tend to daily. This is an educational deep dive into the 10-month grind—weather, waiting, and maintenance.

We cover the technical side of the estate life. You will see how we handle salt-water fermentation, why we use specific irrigation techniques to trigger flowering, and how we monitor the cherries through the monsoon. It is not just about looking at trees. It is about understanding the science and the struggle of cultivation.

After the walk, we settle down for a cupping session. I brew single-estate micro-lots using manual methods like Pour-over or South Indian filter. We will drink black coffee, talk about caffeine, metabolism, and why simple is often better. If you are into forest healing or 'Shinrin Yoku', you will find plenty of quiet space here to disconnect. Come with comfortable shoes and a readiness to get a little mud on them. This experience is about raw nature, clean specialty coffee, and the discipline it takes to produce it.
