Life on the Estate: An Unfiltered View
See what a day in my life looks like at Manchalli. It is equal parts coffee farming, outdoor fitness, and finding peace in the Brahmagiri hills. No filters, just reality.
Finding a moment of peace with my dog under a tree on the estate. This is 'Shinrin Yoku' or forest healing in practice. It's about simplifying and connecting with nature, a core part of the reset I offer here.
A simple pleasure: a coffee break on the hood of my Mahindra Thar during a day of work on the plantation. It's these small, grateful moments amidst the grind that define the planter lifestyle.
My Mahindra Thar is more than a vehicle; it's a versatile tool on the estate. Here we are using it as a platform to install a solar light, with some fun and monkeying around included.
Always in awe of nature. A quiet moment looking out over the hills of Coorg at sunset reminds me that we are part of something much larger than ourselves. This is the perspective I gain from living and working here.
Sometimes the biggest challenge during an outdoor shoot is the local wildlife. Here are my dogs interrupting a workout session, a funny and authentic moment of life on the Manchalli estate.
Just a quiet moment on the estate, sitting on a sack of materials with the Coorg hills in the background. Not every day needs a grand statement; sometimes just being present is enough.
A selfie during a break from plantation work. This is a constant reminder to myself to compare myself only to who I was yesterday. This is the growth mindset I cultivate here as a coffee planter and fitness coach.
About this collection
The photos you see here are exactly how life moves in the Brahmagiri mountains. When you come down, you are not stepping into a luxury resort, but a working farm. We use the Mahindra Thar to move equipment, not just cruise around, and my morning workouts happen wherever the estate trails take us. If you are looking for a sterilized getaway, this might be a shock. If you want to see where your coffee comes from and how real functional training feels in the wild, you will get it.
Life at Manchalli is not a performance. It is a grind, but it is one I genuinely love. When you land here, you realize this is not a retreat center where everything is polished for a brochure. It is a working coffee plantation. You might find me teaching form correction for a kettlebell session, then immediately jumping onto the back of the jeep to check on the Robusta harvest.
Most people get disconnected from the source of their food and the source of their movement. That is what I am trying to fix. Whether we are hiking to the viewpoint for a morning session or walking the drying yard to talk fermentation, the goal is the same: to get you present.
What to expect:
- The Terrain: We train on uneven surfaces because that is what your body is built for.
- The Coffee: You will drink coffee that has been treated with respect, grown right here, and brewed by someone who knows every bush.
- The Pace: It is slow, deliberate, and quiet. There is no honking, no deadlines, and no social media noise unless I am filming a workout segment.
This is for people who are tired of gym walls and want to test their fitness against actual hills and mud. It is for those who want to understand that the perfect lifestyle is mostly just consistency, clean food, and being able to handle a steep hike without losing your breath. If you are ready to trade the air conditioning for the forest air and get your hands dirty, reach out. Let us talk about when you can come up.
