Shooting in the Western Ghats means working with the landscape as it is, not as we want it to be. Whether it is a sudden mist rolling over a ridge in Chikmagalur or the late afternoon sun hitting a rustic field, I lean into natural, moody light. I help you find quiet, private spots where you can simply be yourselves, away from the crowds and the stiff poses typical of standard shoots.
Nature offers a kind of privacy that studios cannot replicate. When we head out to the open fields or the hillsides, the goal is to get you comfortable enough to ignore the camera entirely.
Why These Locations Work
These landscapes—whether it’s the misty plains near Coorg or the tall grass fields of the Western Ghats—are inherently calming. They allow for movement. When you are walking through a field or standing on a hillside, you naturally move, laugh, and interact. That is where I find the best images.
The Process
If you choose a full-day experience, we typically split the time between two different locations to capture the changing light.
- Morning/Late Afternoon: We aim for the 'golden hour' when the sun is low. This is when the light is softest, and the colors in the hills appear most vivid.
- Wardrobe: I suggest wearing outfits that complement the earthy greens and browns of the surroundings. Traditional attire or simple, coordinated casuals work best here.
- Editing: My editing style focuses on subtle color grading and skin retouching, keeping the colors grounded and natural rather than overly vibrant or fake.
If you have a specific location in mind—a place that feels significant to your relationship—I am always open to exploring new spots across Sullia, Puttur, and beyond. We don't need props to make the image interesting; the landscape does most of the heavy lifting.
