Master the Music, Not Just the Notes
Discover a structured, holistic approach to learning music. Whether you join us in Bangalore or online, our Music Method course helps you understand the 'why' behind every note you play.
My goal is to help you become a complete musician, not just someone who plays notes. In this video, I break down how our 6-month Music Method semester is structured. We go beyond simple instrument lessons by integrating music theory, ear training, and specialized workshops like Music Gym and Music Factory to build your all-around musicianship, whether you're a beginner or an advanced player.
Nothing speaks louder than the progress of our students. Hear directly from them about the breakthroughs they've experienced since joining our school. They share how our focus on music theory and foundational understanding transformed them from feeling like "robots" just reading notes to becoming confident, creative musicians.
Music is about connection and collaboration. Here, a group of our talented young students performs a full-band version of John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads." This showcases how our Music Method course brings together pianists, guitarists, and vocalists to create something beautiful together in a professional studio setting.
Here are the core components of our Piano Foundation course at a glance. This 6-month graded certificate program is designed to give you a solid base, covering everything from technique and theory to playing across genres and composition basics. We provide structure, support, and personal feedback to guide your journey.
Our community is truly global. This image is a snapshot of one of our live virtual classes, with students joining from Spain, Australia, the UK, India, the USA, and beyond. No matter where you are, you can be part of a vibrant, interactive learning environment and connect with fellow music lovers.
We nurture talent at every age. Watch our young and focused student, Hans, deliver a powerful piano performance in our studio. Our programs are designed to be engaging and effective for all skill levels, building a strong foundation for a lifelong passion for music.
Our curriculum isn't just for pianists. Here, one of our guitar students, Dawnga, performs "Autumn Leaves" with faculty member Prateek Sonteke. We customize lessons to help every student achieve their goals, whether it's mastering theory, exploring vocals, or building on-stage confidence.
If you're new to the piano or returning after a break, our Piano Foundation course is the perfect place to start. I designed this 6-month program to build a complete musical foundation, covering not just how to play, but also how to sing and play, understand theory, and develop your ear.
About Featured
The core of our 6-month Music Method isn't just about instrument lessons. You receive 20 hours of focused instruction on your chosen instrument, paired with 12 hours of integrated musicianship. This means every week includes specific music theory, ear training, and rhythm drills to ensure you are developing real musicality rather than just memorizing songs from a page.
Most students come to us after hitting a plateau with traditional, note-reading-only methods. You might be able to follow sheet music, but if you cannot jam with a band or transcribe a melody by ear, you are missing the bigger picture. Our curriculum is designed to bridge that gap.
We run 'Music Gym' for technique and 'Music Factory' for transcription. This is not about rigid, repetitive exercises; it is about dissecting the songs you actually love—from pop hits to Indian classical—to understand how they work. You are not just learning to play a song; you are learning how to write and arrange them.
We offer small group batches (online or at our Bangalore centers) and 1-on-1 private mentorships. Each session is recorded in HD, so you have a permanent library of your lessons. We focus on outcome-based learning—by the end of our semester, you will have a graded certificate and, more importantly, the confidence to play freely.

I'm Jason Zac. I started Nathaniel School of Music because I wanted to change how we learn music. My team and I focus on teaching the 'why' behind the notes, so you walk away as a musician, not a machine.
