Our approach to professional music education
We go beyond just playing notes. Whether you are aiming for ABRSM certification or learning to compose your own music, our instructors guide you through a rigorous, international curriculum right here in Gurugram.
I believe that to be a true musician, you need to go beyond playing notes and learn to create. My composition lessons guide you in transforming your musical ideas into original pieces of work.
Ear training is a fundamental part of understanding music. Here, a young student practices solfege, an exercise I use to help musicians identify pitches and chords by ear, building a strong foundation for improvisation and composition.
In this violin lesson, I am guiding a student through music theory concepts written on the whiteboard, including clefs and solfege hand signs. I integrate theory directly into practical lessons for all instruments to ensure a comprehensive understanding.
It's never too early to learn about harmony. This video shows one of my youngest students practicing sargam on the piano, an exercise that builds a foundation for understanding chords and melody harmonization in both Indian and Western music.
My classroom is set up to facilitate both individual focus and collaborative learning. Here, two students are engaged in a keyboard lesson, learning to read sheet music and play together, which is a key part of my group class experience.
This is Ekaterina, one of my highly qualified international instructors, performing a piece on the piano. Her expertise in both jazz and classical music reflects the high standard of musical education I provide to all my students.
My goal is to help you become a complete musician. Through my integrated program, you will learn to sing, play an instrument, and compose your own music, unlocking your full artistic potential.
About Featured
At The Metropolitan School of Music, we move past superficial lessons. Our curriculum integrates ear training, music theory, and composition from day one, ensuring you actually understand the mechanics of the music you play. Whether you are practicing Hindustani classical or Western jazz, our instructors treat every session as a step toward professional-grade musicianship.
Why our approach is different
We believe music isn't a hobby, but a discipline. Many students come to us after hitting a plateau, frustrated that they can play songs but don't understand the structure behind them. We fix that by making music theory and solfege mandatory components, not afterthoughts.
International Curriculum & Exams
If your goal is formal recognition, we are built for it. We act as a hub for ABRSM, Trinity, and Rockschool exam preparation. We handle the exam registration, provide mock tests, and our senior faculty grades your progress against international syllabi.
Our Environment
We operate out of our conservatories in Nirvana Country and Uppal Southend, Gurugram. Our studios are acoustically treated to ensure you hear every pitch clearly. For those unable to visit, we have built an online program that mirrors our in-person rigour—you get the same 1-on-1 attention, the same theory focus, and the same feedback loops.
Whether you are picking up the violin for the first time or preparing for advanced harmony, you will find a dedicated space here. Our doors are open to everyone—kids and adults alike—who is ready to take their music seriously.
