Media Features and Performance Reviews
A look back at the media coverage and press features that have documented my evolution from an early solo performer to a professional dance-theatre artist.
A throwback to some of my earliest press features, long before social media was common. This article, titled "Mind your steps," reviewed one of my solo performances and my journey as a young dancer.
About In the Press
These early reviews reflect the foundation of my performance style—the precision of the footwork, the authenticity of the storytelling, and the commitment to classical discipline. They remind me that every stage appearance, whether a solo recital or a group production, is an opportunity to share a story that resonates with an audience.
Looking back at these clippings offers a clear window into how my practice has evolved. When I started, the focus was purely on mastering the traditional repertoire, like Alaripu and Varnam. As my training with Jyotsna Shourie deepened, so did the complexity of my work. The coverage of my early days in the Hindustan Times captures the raw energy of a solo performer, which eventually grew into the collaborative, narrative-driven dance-theatre work I do today with productions like 'UNMASKED' and 'SAKHI.'
This media history serves as proof of a sustained, professional commitment to the arts. It demonstrates that whether I am performing for an intimate gathering or a large cultural festival, I bring the same level of attention to detail—from costume and makeup to the technical lighting cues. When you book a performance, you are working with an artist who has been refining this craft for years, with a proven track record of bringing Indian mythology and contemporary rhythm to life on stage.
