See how we structure our training sessions at Murugan Academy of Tennis. From high-intensity functional fitness to precise stroke mechanics, we build better players one session at a time.

Our fitness classes are a core part of our training. Here, young players work on agility and speed using cones and ladders, essential skills for covering the court.

About this collection

Our training at MAT isn't just about hitting balls; it’s about preparation. Whether you are in our junior program or an adult fitness batch, every session starts with 30 minutes of functional movement—think agility ladders and sprints—before we even touch a racquet. This specific warmup structure helps our players maintain intensity during long matches and reduces the risk of injury on our red clay courts.

Tennis is as much about the physical foundation as it is about stroke mechanics. At Murugan Academy of Tennis, we treat fitness as a non-negotiable part of the game. Our training philosophy is built on ITF standards, ensuring we simulate match conditions effectively.

Functional Movement

Our fitness sessions—incorporating agility ladders, explosive sprints, and core work—are designed to mimic the stop-start nature of competitive tennis. You will see this in our adult cardio batches where the focus is on heart rate conditioning and lateral movement, keeping sessions intense but structured.

Technical Precision

For our juniors and elite tournament players, drills are carefully segmented. We break down the serve, forehand, and backhand into micro-movements, ensuring muscle memory is built correctly from day one. Our coaches provide direct, real-time correction so you don't form bad habits.

The Clay Court Advantage

Our five red clay courts in Seegehalli are a cornerstone of our training. They are gentler on the joints compared to hard courts, allowing for longer, more frequent training sessions. This surface also forces players to develop patience, as the bounce is consistent but slower, requiring better footwork and shot selection.

Elite Tournament Preparation

If you are aiming for competitive play, our high-performance program includes video analysis of your stroke mechanics and tactical serving patterns. We also assist with AITA tournament calendar management, helping you transition from training to competitive success.

I am Murugan, and I believe champions aren't born, they're made right here on the court. My brother Raju and I lead these sessions because we know that discipline, grit, and sweat are the only shortcuts to real improvement. We aren't just teaching you how to swing a racquet; we’re helping you become a tougher, faster, and more complete player.
