In my bathroom designs, I often replace standard hardware with extended curved shutter forms that act as built-in handles. This eliminates the need for exposed knobs, keeping the cabinetry surfaces seamless and clean. It is a small change, but it removes visual clutter, making a functional space feel significantly more intentional and spacious.
Utility spaces are often overlooked, yet they are where we begin and end our days. My approach to kitchens and bathrooms prioritizes reducing visual noise. Whether I am using fluted cabinetry in a deep green to create a moody, sophisticated washroom, or incorporating Panda white marble for a timeless appeal, every material is chosen for both durability and texture.
I treat these rooms as integral parts of the home's architecture rather than separate, sterile zones. This means focusing on details like marble-edge shelving, which we often backlight to create a soft, calming glow, or integrating pocket door systems that allow the bathroom to blend into the bedroom suite when not in use.
My process is highly technical. Because bathrooms are high-moisture environments, I focus heavily on the substrate, from waterproofing layers to the precision of joinery. When designing vanities, I prefer custom, flush-mounted basins and bespoke veneer or PU-finished shutters, ensuring that the storage is perfectly scaled to the user's requirements. We do not use off-the-shelf modules. Instead, we design specific zoning—whether it is a hidden laundry integration in a bathroom or a kitchen layout that prioritizes the 'golden triangle' of movement. The result is a space that does not just look refined, but feels remarkably easy to use.
