Luxury Living & Dining Room Interior Designs
Where modern elegance meets daily comfort. We design living and dining spaces that balance warm, clean minimalism with the specific textures of your life.
In this Santacruz duplex, we paired a deep green curved sofa with a bold checkered coffee table and sculptural brass accents. The result is a living area that feels sophisticated and cozy, with unique lighting that draws the eye and enhances the room's modern design.
This living room in a Mumbai apartment is a study in serene sophistication. A soft pink sofa adds a touch of color to the neutral palette, while the clean lines of the wall molding and the abstract art create a backdrop of quiet elegance. The space is designed to feel like a sanctuary.
This short tour showcases the dynamic elements of the Evelyn project's living room. Notice the play of light on the geometric console, the intricate details of the pendant lights, and the custom artwork that anchors the space. It’s a room designed for comfort and visual delight.
A detail from the Evelyn duplex, this view highlights the flow between spaces. The bold orange dining chair adds a pop of color against a custom wall with subtle, wave-like textures, creating a sense of movement and artistry that connects the dining and living areas.
This dining area features a stunning veneer marquetry artwork on pocket shutters, which conceal a spacious crockery unit. The custom marble dining table and soft pink chairs create an elegant setting, while the bubble chandelier adds a touch of modern whimsy.

This living room from "Apartment 222" feels like a warm hug. We used a palette of soft, earthy tones and natural materials like wood and linen, with classic wall molding to add a touch of timeless elegance. The space is calm, balanced, and elevated.

About Luxury Living & Dining Spaces
A living room only works when it serves the chaos and calm of your daily routine. We avoid the ‘museum look’ by prioritizing textures you can touch—like herringbone floors, linen, and fluted marble—rather than just flat, glossy finishes. We design your coffee tables, bar units, and storage to fit the specific footprint of your room, ensuring the dining area flows naturally into your seating zone without feeling crowded.
When we approach a living or dining space, our goal is to create a room that feels like a natural extension of the people who inhabit it.
The Logic of Flow
In larger projects like our Evelyn duplex in Santacruz, we focus on zoning. We don’t just place furniture; we create pathways that allow the living room to remain a quiet sanctuary while the dining area serves as an active, social hub. By using elements like pocket shutters that conceal crockery units or custom marquetry, we hide the clutter that often disrupts a home's visual calm.
Materiality & Light
We avoid the high-gloss aesthetic that dominates much of Mumbai's luxury market. Instead, we lean into warm minimalism. We pair materials like fluted cement bases with paisley-upholstered chairs, or cool Italian marble with soft brass lighting. In our Bandra project, Apartment 222, we used a palette of taupes and olive greens to ground the space, proving that a home doesn’t need excess to feel expensive.
Why Custom Matters
Standard furniture often forces you to compromise on scale. Because we manufacture our own sofas, dining sets, and storage units, every piece is scaled to the room’s actual dimensions. This is how we ensure that a 2,700 sq.ft. apartment feels expansive, while a smaller footprint retains its warmth. We focus on the details that disappear until you look closely—the way a handle feels, the pattern of a veneer, or the hidden depth of a wall panel. It is this attention to the quiet moments that ultimately defines the luxury of a space.
Meenakshi Jessani
I started MJ Architects to prove that a home doesn’t need excess to feel luxurious. My team and I focus on the quiet details—the way light hits a fluted wall or how a custom dining table anchors a room. We build for the people who actually live there, not for magazines.
