Breath is the bridge between your body and mind. Here, I share techniques to clear mental clutter, regulate your nervous system, and find stillness in a chaotic city.

What to expect in my "Take A Breath" session. We learn pranayama essentials, a pre-meditative breath ritual, and meridian-based release techniques to invite the joy of quiet.

A group of students practicing Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing). This is a cornerstone of pranayama, known for its ability to balance the hemispheres of the brain and calm the mind.

Me practicing Bhramari (humming bee breath) with my teacher, Srivatsa Ramaswami. Pranayama is a practice of taking out the "cobwebs of the mind," leading to immense clarity.

Pranayama is a key element of my teacher trainings. We cultivate awareness of prana and learn to give it direction through specific methods, resulting in a sense of discernment in life.

A simple truth: Pranayama is not just about breathing; it's a practice to regulate the nervous system and clear the mind.

When you calm the breath, you calm the mind. This image, taken in the lush fields of Kumaon, captures the essence of my pranayama workshops: harnessing the breath to harness the mind.

About this collection

Many of my students come to me thinking pranayama is just about deep breathing. It is actually a precise tool to 'take out the cobwebs' of the mind. In my studio, we don't just sit and breathe; we use meridian-based release techniques and specific sequencing to prepare the body, so your nervous system is actually ready to settle into the silence of meditation.

Beyond the Basics: The Spirit Lab

Pranayama is often treated as a side-effect of asana practice, but in my view, it is the cornerstone. When you calm the breath, you automatically quiet the mind. My sessions in Westend Colony and across Delhi NCR are designed for anyone wanting to move past the superficial physical benefits of yoga.

Why Practice Pranayama?

  • Nervous System Regulation: We live in a state of constant 'fight or flight.' Conscious breathwork, including techniques like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), helps shift your body into a parasympathetic state, reducing stress levels.
  • Mental Clarity: Think of pranayama as hygiene for your mind. Just as you shower to clean your body, these practices clear the emotional residue and mental clutter that accumulate daily.
  • Hormonal Balance: For many women, specifically those navigating perimenopause or hormonal shifts, breathwork is a powerful, non-invasive tool to manage symptoms and regain a sense of internal rhythm.

What You Will Experience

I structure sessions to be accessible, whether you are a beginner or a teacher in training. We start with seated asana to activate the lymph and identify your primary breathing muscles, followed by guided breath rituals. We don't just practice; we discuss the philosophy, the anatomy, and how these techniques apply to your daily life—whether you are dealing with work pressure, sleep issues, or just a desire for more discernment.

This is not a generic class. It is a space to learn how to harness your breath as a tool for personal mastery.
