About

Movement isn't just about stillness or holding a pose - it's about letting energy flow. I struggled with staying still in yoga, but it taught me a lot about my own breath and body. Kalaripayattu, with its roots deep in Indian tradition, offers a whole different vibe. It's not just fighting; it's about moving with intention, connecting with your prana, and tuning into your own rhythms.

What You’ll Get Out of This

We go way beyond simple exercise. You'll get:

  • Kalari warm-ups and foundational footwork (Chuvadukal), which build real strength and flexibility
  • Animal postures - yes, you literally channel animals like the lion or elephant, which is pretty wild and fun
  • Breath integration (pranayama), so every move gets powered by your own energy
  • A peek into the history and philosophy behind this martial art

I host these workshops with Carolina Prada, who brings loads of experience from Kalarigram. I lead the yoga asana part, prepping you for the dynamic side of Kalari.

Who Shows Up?

Literally anyone - people who teach yoga, folks just curious about Indian martial arts for wellness, or total newbies. No need to have tried martial arts or yoga before. If you’re open to trying something different, you’ll fit right in.

How We Roll

  • Three-day intensive in Delhi (in-person, movement meditation techniques included)
  • Month-long online course mixing yoga and Kalari
  • Online Kalari-only sessions for those who want just the martial art

Come with an open mind, and expect to move in ways you probably haven’t before.

My Story

You know, Om YogaShala isn’t just about yoga mats and fancy poses. It started with faith, prayer, and a bit of restlessness. I was that person who couldn’t sit still, always jumping at the gym. Yoga didn't come easy, but it taught me quietude in movement. My home’s a patchwork of travel memories, a little modern Indian chaos (Vogue even noticed). Broke my toe once – yeah, movement’s precious. Every stumble, every breath, it’s all a teacher.

My Work

What We Offer - We teach Asana classes (Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin), Kalaripayattu, Pranayama, Mantra chanting, Meditation, soulful Ladakh retreats, and workshops on Ayurveda and women's health.

Rituals, Not Just Routines - We help you build micro-habits for pain-free, functional movement. It’s daily deposits for a vibrant life.

Ayurveda Based Yoga - We mix yoga and Ayurveda, balancing doshas and clearing emotional residue for mind-body healing.

For Every Body - Everyone’s welcome. We modify poses, focus on strength, and support women through hormonal transitions.
