My Yogic Path & Philosophy: Rooted in Tradition, Adapted for Today
Yoga is not just about postures. It is a way to replace old, unhelpful patterns with new ones, using breath and movement to find clarity amidst the noise of city life.
My revered teacher and guru, Srivatsa Ramaswami. His wisdom, passed down directly from T. Krishnamacharya, is the foundation of my Vinyasa Krama teaching.
A rare photograph of the legendary T. Krishnamacharya. His teachings emphasize that yoga is a process of replacing old, unhelpful patterns with new, more appropriate ones.
Practicing a seated twist, a photo from my late 30s. My personal practice has evolved over the decades, but the core principles of breath and alignment remain constant.
Holding flowers in 'Anjali Mudra' (offering gesture). My guru taught me that the palms should be slightly cupped, as if holding an imaginary lotus as a loving offering to the object of your meditation.
A photo from my early practice, holding flowers as an offering. Basant Panchami is a time of renewal and wisdom, reminding us to embrace learning and growth in all forms.
'Charans' (symbolic feet of the guru) and a diya. These objects represent reverence for the lineage of teachers who have preserved and passed down this profound knowledge.
Padukas I designed, representing the feet of the guru. On Guru Purnima, we honor all teachers, saints, and yogis who light our path.
About this collection
My teaching is directly influenced by my guru, Srivatsa Ramaswami, a student of the legendary T. Krishnamacharya. This lineage is not about rigid tradition. It is about intelligent sequencing that respects your nervous system. When you join a session, you are not just doing poses. You are entering a spirit lab where we use Vinyasa Krama and breathwork to clear physical and emotional residue, creating a foundation that supports you long after you leave the mat.
My practice is built on the foundation of Vinyasa Krama, a method that synchronizes breath with movement. Rather than rushing through shapes, we focus on the logic of the sequence. This approach allows you to build strength, flexibility, and focus without putting unnecessary strain on the body.
I believe yoga is a process of replacing old, unhelpful habits with new, more appropriate ones. Whether you are dealing with the stiffness of sedentary work or the mental fatigue of life in Delhi, my sessions provide the tools to navigate these shifts.
We don't leave the mat behind. I weave Ayurvedic lifestyle principles into our work, teaching you how to use seasonal routines, diet, and daily rituals, known as Dinacharya, to bring balance to your life.
What to expect in a session:
- Breath-Centered Movement: Pranayama is never an afterthought. It is a central pillar used to calm the nervous system and prepare the mind for deeper work.
- Accessible Philosophy: We explore the Yoga Sutras not as academic texts, but as practical guides for living.
- Personalized Alignment: My sessions at Westend Colony are kept to limited batch sizes, ensuring you receive hands-on adjustments and verbal cues tailored to your specific body.
My studio in Vasant Vihar is designed to be a sanctuary, a space where we can strip away the chaos of the NCR and focus on the quiet work of self-discovery. Whether you are a total beginner or a long-time practitioner, this path is open to you.
Mini Shastri
I did not always find peace in stillness. My path began with the restlessness of strength training, which eventually taught me that movement is precious. Today, I share a practice that blends ancient wisdom with the practical reality of our daily lives.
