You might just see the final portrait, but my process is all about the prep and polish. Whether it is rapid skin prep for a 60-minute commercial look or layered detailing for an editorial shoot, I focus on making the makeup feel like real skin under bright studio lights. It is not just about the products; it is about the energy and teamwork on set that makes the final shot truly pop.
From Concept to Camera
Every project starts differently. For editorial shoots, we have time to play with textures, graphic liners, and avant-garde elements. For commercial and lookbook sessions, the goal is consistency and camera-readiness. My process is designed to handle both.
My On-Set Routine
- Skin Prep: Before any color touches the skin, I focus on hydration. Whether it is a fast-paced ad shoot or a long day in the studio, a clean, glowing base is non-negotiable.
- Collaboration: I do not work in a bubble. I am constantly coordinating with photographers, stylists, and the hair team. If a lighting shift happens or the outfit changes, I am right there with the touch-up kit to adjust the makeup instantly.
- The 'Real Skin' Philosophy: My goal is always for the makeup to look like skin. Even for dramatic or bold looks, I blend and layer to ensure the finish remains breathable and professional, rather than heavy or cakey under 4K lenses.
