People see the glam but rarely the prep. Whether I am working with a legendary athlete or on a rapid-fire ad film set, the reality is all about continuity. I spend as much time watching the video monitor for sweat, shine, or displaced hair as I do applying foundation, because that is what ensures a shot stays perfect under intense studio lights.
Working on a professional set is a totally different game compared to event or bridal makeup. When you are on a TV commercial shoot or an editorial campaign, the environment changes every hour. The lighting shifts, the humidity spikes, and you are racing against the clock to keep the talent camera-ready.
My approach is built on technical precision and speed. I rely on HD airbrush makeup and industrial-strength setting sprays that do not budge, even under harsh studio spots. But the real work happens in the 'in-between' moments. I am constantly checking the monitor to spot issues—a stray hair caught in a breeze, a touch of unwanted shine, or the need for a quick pigment adjustment—before the director calls action.
It is not just about the makeup kit; it is about the team culture. Kaam tabhi maza aata hai jab sab mil ke karein (work is only fun when we all do it together). I coordinate closely with the hair team, the stylist, and the lighting crew to make sure everything from the skin texture to the body illumination is balanced. Whether it is a high-fashion look for a magazine or a natural, dewy finish for a tech brand, the goal is always to make the visuals pop without looking 'heavy' on screen.
