About On Set: The Process
When I am on set, I am not just standing by with a powder brush. I am glued to the monitor, checking how the light catches the highlight and if a single hair is disrupting the frame. My process is a constant dialogue with the photographer and stylist, ensuring that every brushstroke holds up under the intensity of high-definition studio lights.
The images you see here are glimpses into my creative ecosystem. On a commercial shoot, the atmosphere is a mix of precision and speed. I am responsible for maintaining the integrity of the look while the concept evolves throughout the day.
My kit is built for these variations. Whether we are transitioning from a morning editorial look to an evening, high-glam finish, I work with products that hold their pigment and texture under different lighting conditions, from harsh outdoor sun to controlled studio flashes. I focus on skin longevity, using techniques that prevent creasing or shine without losing the natural skin texture that high-end photography demands.
Collaboration is the core of this process. I don't work in a silo. I listen to the stylist's vision and the photographer's angle, then adjust my hair and makeup approach to support that narrative. If the mood board calls for a wet-look aesthetic, I am thinking about the product viscosity and how it will reflect light in motion. If it is a clean, commercial campaign, I am focused on the perfect matte finish that requires zero retouching later.
Behind the scenes, it is about adaptability. A shoot rarely goes exactly to the storyboard, and my job is to be the calm center, ready with a touch-up or a total pivot whenever the camera needs something different.
