About Behind the Scenes
You don't see the hours of skin prep or the rapid touch-ups during a long commercial shift in the final photos. Whether it's fixing flyaways under hot studio lights or creating that perfect 'wet hair' look in record time, my job on set is to keep the makeup flawless while the photographer works their magic.
The images you see here capture the reality of the work I do, away from the polished final results. A successful shoot is built on preparation—whether it’s the quiet focus of a studio portrait session or the organized chaos of a runway show like The Luxo Show in Benares.
My Approach on Set
I believe in letting skin breathe and shine, even when we are doing dramatic editorial concepts. During long-duration commercial shoots (8-9 hours), I focus on technical durability. I use long-wear products specifically chosen to withstand hot studio lights and monitor the photographer's screen for any shine or unwanted texture that needs a quick correction.
Collaboration and Range
My process changes depending on the project.
- For Portfolio Shoots: I prioritize versatility, working with models to switch from minimalist looks to bold, graphic eyeliner concepts seamlessly.
- For Fashion & Runway: Speed is the priority. I manage rapid changeovers, ensuring that the model looks consistent even with multiple outfit swaps.
- Editorial Work: This is where I push creative boundaries, using techniques like body glowing and contouring to match the artist's mood board.
Whether I am traveling for a project in Mumbai, Varanasi, or beyond, the goal is always to create a space where the model feels comfortable and the photographer feels supported.
