About this collection
When I include older siblings in newborn shoots, I keep it quick and focus on natural interactions. Children get restless, so I do not force stiff poses. Instead, I give them small, fun tasks like 'gentle kisses' or 'holding hands' to keep them engaged, which ensures the baby stays safe and the older sibling feels special.
I know many parents feel nervous about bringing an older child to a newborn shoot. You worry if they will stay still or be rough. I have handled this thousands of times and my approach is simple: I make the older sibling the 'helper' so they feel important rather than left out.
If your older child is energetic, I do not force them into long, posed shots. We do playful, natural, and quick photos that capture real bonding. My studio in Sahakarnagar is designed with enough space for them to move around when they aren't in the frame, and we have plenty of kid-friendly props to keep them interested.
