Painting, Drawing & Sketching Art Classes
From realistic food sketches to vibrant canvas paintings, I guide children to develop their skills with watercolors, pastels, and pencils in a fun, pressure-free studio environment.
Doesn't this make you hungry? My students learned about realistic art by painting a delicious slice of cheesecake. We focused on shading and highlighting with watercolors to make the food look truly tempting.
Learning to draw caricatures is a fun way to study faces and expressions. Here, my students are learning the step-by-step process, which helps improve observation skills and hand-eye coordination in a playful way.
Every story starts with a sketch. This piece was done by an 11-year-old student who dreams of being an author. I encourage my students to draw from their imagination, helping them visualize their ideas and stories.
Unicorns are pure magic, and so is the creativity of my students! Using oil pastels, they brought these mythical creatures to life with vibrant colors and their own unique designs. This is a great medium for learning about color blending.
In this project, my students let their imaginations roam to create an enchanting 'deer in the forest' scene. We focused on layering and creating a sense of depth to make the forest come alive around the gentle deer.
3, 2, 1, blast off! We traveled to outer space in this canvas painting session. The kids learned to blend dark colors for the galaxy background and painted colorful planets and spaceships to complete their cosmic adventure.
We're reaching for the stars with these amazing spaceship drawings. I encourage kids to design their own futuristic vehicles, letting their creativity and imagination lead the way.
Inspired by a beautiful seaside view, my students painted these charming canvases. This project teaches simple perspective and how to use color blocking to create a clean and impactful landscape.
This canvas painting captures the charm of a quiet seaside town with a lighthouse. The kids learned to use fine brushes for outlining and detailing, which is a great exercise for improving control and precision.
A close-up look at painting a classic nutcracker on canvas. This project involves careful detail work and layering acrylic paints, which I break down into simple, manageable steps for every student.
About Painting, Drawing & Sketching
In my Khar West studio, I cap my batches at 4 to 8 students. This small size allows me to personally guide each artist through specific techniques like shading, color blending, and composition, ensuring every child receives the individual attention they need to build confidence and refine their own artistic style.
Whether your child is just picking up a brush or already doodling in every notebook, my sessions focus on building confidence through creativity. We move beyond just copying images by exploring the core fundamentals of artistic expression. We spend time on object drawing, perspective, and color theory, but always within a framework that feels like play rather than a strict academic lesson.
My Approach to Teaching Art
For younger artists, I break down complex subjects—like a galaxy background or a character study—into manageable, step-by-step actions. We explore diverse mediums, from student-grade watercolors and acrylic paints to oil pastels. The goal isn't to create a perfect masterpiece, but to enjoy the process of putting color on paper.
Programs & Coaching
- Regular Art Classes: Weekly in-person sessions at my Khar West studio for kids aged 5 to 11. These are ideal for children who thrive in a social, creative environment.
- Exam Preparation: For students looking to build a serious portfolio or prepare for the Maharashtra State Art Directorate Elementary and Intermediate exams, I run focused coaching sessions. These cover object drawing, memory drawing, and geometric design, balancing the rigors of exam preparation with my core philosophy that art should always be a source of joy.
- Holiday Camps: Seasonal intensive workshops that focus on completing 2-3 distinct projects, perfect for keeping young minds active during school breaks.
