Custom Hand-Embroidered Couture and Design
Step inside my studio to see how we transform fabric into wearable art through traditional hand-embroidery techniques like cutdana and beadwork.
This video gives you a glimpse into my workshop, where artisans carefully place each bead and mirror by hand. This level of craftsmanship is what makes each piece a unique work of art and ensures your outfit is truly special.
Here you can see the fine detail of a floral embroidery pattern up close. I chose a variety of colorful sequins and beads to move beyond basic metallics, creating a vibrant and modern design on a sheer fabric base.
This image shows a neckline motif created with multi-colored sequins and beads. This kind of detailed hand-embroidery allows me to create completely custom patterns that reflect your personal style and the theme of your event.

About A Closer Look: Intricate Handwork
When you choose hand-embroidery, you aren't just selecting a design from a rack. In my Vashi studio, I work directly with artisans to map out motifs using cutdana, mirrors, and crystals on the fabric. Because every piece is done by hand, we can customize patterns to match your event theme or coordinate specific embroidery details with a partner's outfit, ensuring the finish is crisp, aligned, and unique to you.
The true difference between machine-made clothing and custom hand-embroidery lies in the depth and durability of the work. When we use techniques like Zardosi, French knots, or mirror work, we aren't just applying decoration; we are constructing the fabric's texture.
My Process
Every project begins with a conversation about what you need—whether it is a heavy-duty wedding sherwani for a groom or a light, hand-embroidered lehenga for a cocktail night. Once the fabric base is selected, we sketch the layout. Unlike mass-produced outfits, hand-placing beads and sequins allows for organic movement and better light reflection.
Why Handwork Matters
- Precision: Machines often pull fabric, leading to puckering. Hand-embroidery keeps the fabric base, like raw silk or velvet, flat and structured.
- Material Quality: We use high-shine glass crystals, cutdana, and salis that hold their luster longer than plastic or acrylic machine-sewn embellishments.
- Comfort: I insist on premium soft linings like Malmal or Butter Crepe, especially for heavier work, so the embroidery stays on the outside while the skin-facing side remains smooth and prick-free.
Timelines and Logistics
Because this work is labor-intensive, please keep in mind that custom production requires 25 to 45 days. This ensures our artisans have the time to complete the detailing properly. If you are in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, we can schedule a trial at my Vashi studio to perfect the fit, and I also ship across India if you cannot make it in person.
