Creating matching outfits for family members is one of my favorite things to do. For this bride and her niece, I designed a set of elegant navy blue gowns with shared details like hand-embroidery and feather shoulders, making their bond visible in their style.
Here is a wonderful example of a mother-daughter coordinated look for a destination wedding. The mother's custom jacket with hand-embellished details and the daughter's complementary outfit create a stylish, unified appearance perfect for the boho-themed event.
Coordinated couple sets are a popular choice for pre-wedding functions like a Haldi ceremony. For this couple, I designed a custom yellow printed kurta for him that perfectly matched the tone and style of her bespoke brocade skirt and embroidered blouse.
Twinning outfits for a parent and child are always a highlight at weddings. This custom hand-embroidery sherwani for a little boy was designed to coordinate with his mother's outfit, creating memorable photo opportunities.
About Family & Couple Twinning Sets
Twinning doesn't have to mean wearing the exact same print. I focus on finding a common thread, like a shared embroidery motif or a specific Pantone-matched colour palette, to tie your family's looks together. Whether it's a mother-daughter set for a destination wedding or a father-son sherwani for the haldi, I ensure the silhouettes and comfort levels are right for each person while maintaining that cohesive style.
My design process for family sets starts with a conversation about the occasion. Are we looking for something subtle and elegant, or bold and festive?
The Custom Design Process
When you come to my studio in Vashi, we start by sketching out the vision. I pay close attention to the small details that make a look 'yours'—like using cutdana, salis, or Swarovski crystals to link the outfits. If you are ordering for children, I prioritize comfort above all else. I use premium soft linings like butter crepe or malmal to ensure the hand-embroidery never pricks the skin, and I always include a 2-inch inner margin to accommodate growth spurts, so the outfit stays useful for future events.
Planning Your Look
Because every piece is handcrafted, I require 25 to 45 days for production. If you have a specific date for your haldi, sangeet, or wedding, it is best to connect with me early so we have time for trials. For couple sets, I can coordinate fabric dyeing to ensure the colours match perfectly, even if we are working with different base materials like viscose raw silk for him and a lighter weave for her.
My goal is to take the stress out of finding matching clothes for the whole family. We handle the design, the tailoring, and the detailing, so you can just focus on the event itself.
