Interactive Storytelling Sessions for Every Audience
From folklore to corporate narratives, I bring stories to life using puppets, music, and heart. Whether it is a school, a community hall, or a corporate summit, let us create a space where everyone listens, learns, and connects.
Look at these faces, so full of attention and curiosity. This was a beautiful session at the Fravashi Academy in Nashik, where over 200 parents and children gathered. In these moments, we create a wonderland of tales together.
A story comes alive with expression and movement. Here at the Readaboo library in Pune, I am sharing a tale with my whole being. The laughter and engagement from the children and parents is what makes it all worthwhile.
In the Himalayas, at the Chiraag school, the children asked for a ghost story. I began with a low rumble, and soon, we were all lost in a world of monsters and mountains. Their pure, open listening is a gift to any storyteller.
Stories know no age. It was a fulfilling dream to share tales at the Ziva senior retirement community in Chennai. The audience, rich with their own life stories, listened with a depth and wisdom that was truly moving.
Performing for the residents at the Ziva senior community home was a reminder that the human need for stories is timeless. Each listener brings a lifetime of experience, making the shared narrative incredibly rich and meaningful.
A moment of shared gratitude at the 'I play - I learn' playschool's annual day in Chennai. Being with these active, joyful preschool children and seeing them engage with dance and movement was a beautiful experience.
On stage at the Kukdukoo Children's Festival, I shared tales from far and wide. It's a joy to perform for such a large and enthusiastic audience of children and parents, bringing stories from my books to life.
About this collection
My sessions are not just me talking at you. I bring puppets, simple instruments, and masks to create an environment that is interactive and alive. Whether I am working with curious preschoolers in a playschool or a room full of corporate leaders, I tailor the rhythm and the tales to fit the energy of the group, ensuring everyone feels like they are part of the narrative.
How My Storytelling Works
My approach to storytelling is rooted in the tradition of Antardhwani—finding the inner voice. I do not just recite tales; I facilitate experiences. For younger audiences, we often use Japanese Kamishibai theatre, hand puppets, and songs to make myths and animal fables tangible. For adults and corporate groups, the focus shifts to using storytelling as a tool for communication, leadership, and emotional wellness.
Where We Connect
My performances travel to various settings, from intimate libraries and parks to large literature festivals like Kukdukoo. I am equally at home in a cozy playschool setting in Chennai or a high-stakes leadership workshop at an IIM. If you are planning an event, I bring the necessary props—the 'Story Bag'—and create a setup that works for your specific space.
Customization for Your Event
- Schools & Libraries: Interactive sessions focusing on folklore and mythology that encourage creativity and active listening.
- Community Gatherings: We host open-mic nights and theme-based sessions where families can come together to share in the joy of oral tradition.
- Corporate: Keynotes and workshops that integrate storytelling into business strategies, diversity discussions, and team building.
If you have a specific venue in mind, let us chat about how we can transform it into a space of discovery. Whether you are hosting 10 people or 200, my goal is to leave you with a cartload of experiences, not just the memory of a performance.
Geeta Ramanujam
I have spent 45 years walking the path of a storyteller, and I still get nervous before the first word is spoken. I believe everyone has a story waiting to be heard, and my joy comes from helping you find that voice, whether you are five or fifty-five.
