About Special Retreats: The Himalayan Experience
In these 3-day Himalayan retreats, we stay in small, intimate groups of no more than 10 people. This means you get constant access to me, not just during workshops, but during our forest walks, our farm-to-table meals, and our evening bonfire circles. We go deep into narrative techniques, but the mountain air and the silence do much of the heavy lifting. Be ready to trade your screens for deep, honest conversation.
Why Satkhol?
I chose the Himalayas, specifically the quiet slopes of Satkhol in Uttarakhand, because the mountain is a teacher. When you are surrounded by that level of stillness, the noise in your head finally dies down. This is where we do our work. You are not just here to learn performance techniques or voice modulation. You are here to reconnect with your own Anthardhwani, or inner voice.
What You Will Experience
- Intensive Learning: We balance structured storytelling training with creative freedom. You will learn to internalize stories, use your body and voice, and build narratives that resonate.
- The Setting: We stay in boutique homestays that offer warmth and comfort. You will wake up to mountain views, eat fresh, farm-to-table Kumaoni meals, and spend your evenings by a bonfire.
- Community: Because the group is small, you are not just a face in a crowd. We spend 24 hours a day together. We walk the talk, we dance, we share our struggles, and we build bonds that usually last long after the workshop ends.
- Healing: The retreat includes silence exercises, guided forest walks, and meditation sessions. It is designed for anyone who feels stuck or needs a pause.
Is This For You?
You do not need to be a professional performer or writer. If you are a parent, teacher, corporate professional, or simply a wanderer looking for a way to process life, you belong here. Bring your desire to learn and leave with a cartload of experiences.
