Transforming Classrooms with Storytelling Workshops

About Transforming Classrooms: Workshops for Educators
These sessions are not lectures where you sit and take notes. In my workshops, we get on the floor, use puppets, and practice voice modulation together. You leave not with a certificate, but with a practical toolkit of active listening, body language cues, and a method to turn any dry textbook concept into a story your students will actually remember.
When I enter a school, I am not looking for polished performances. I am looking for the teacher who wants to connect. My workshops focus on bridging the gap between curriculum requirements and the child's natural love for stories.
What we cover
We dive into the 'How and Why Tales' methodology, which helps teachers merge narrative structures with subjects like Science and Math. You will learn how to use silence as a tool for classroom management and how to use simple, low-cost props like puppets to manage class energy.
The process
- Deep Listening: We start here. When a teacher learns to listen, the class learns to follow.
- Voice and Body: We practice pitch, pace, and pause, ensuring you can command attention without raising your voice.
- Integration: We take your existing syllabus and weave stories into it, making abstract concepts concrete.
Whether it is a full-day intensive session for 60 teachers or a smaller, focused group, the goal remains the same: transforming the classroom into an interactive space of discovery. I have conducted these sessions from Bangalore to Delhi, Gurugram, and Indore, working with institutions that value the power of narrative as a fundamental tool for learning.
Geeta Ramanujam
I have spent 45 years listening to stories and teaching others how to tell them. When I walk into a school, I don't look for perfection; I look for that spark of curiosity in every teacher. My goal is simple—to help you find your voice so you can help your students find theirs.
