About Additional Work
Every garment we create begins with a toile—a raw cotton mock-up that ensures the fit is precise before we touch your final fabric. Whether it is an architectural corset or a flowing gown, this step guarantees that the shape we sketch is exactly the one that celebrates your form.
Our design process is rooted in the dialogue between structure and motion. We start by deconstructing traditional Indian silhouettes, stripping away the excess to find the core geometry of the garment. For our corset-based pieces, this means utilizing 10-14 steel bones to provide an internal architecture that supports the wearer, allowing the exterior to remain fluid and expressive.
We focus on what we call 'memory in fabric.' This means every seam is placed to contour, and every layer is added to create a sense of presence. For our cocktail or bridal ensembles, we often incorporate heavy-duty YKK zippers and horsehair braid lining at the hem. These are not merely functional choices; they ensure that a voluminous gown or a flared lehenga retains its intended silhouette from the first dance until the end of the evening.
Our studio in Defence Colony operates on a model of precision. We prioritize long-line corsetry, architectural hoods, and linear beadwork that emphasizes the body rather than obscuring it. Whether you are looking for a pre-draped sari that offers the ease of a gown or a lehenga that moves with the grace of silk, our approach remains consistent: we build the form, then we define the aesthetic. This process requires time and attention, usually spanning 30-45 days for full customization, ensuring that your final look is perfectly balanced.
