What We Are
For us at Kalavadhyam, this isn’t just about music - it’s about family. For more than 15 years, we’ve been keeping Kerala’s temple rhythms alive here in Bangalore. Chenda is in our blood, but our music goes much beyond that, embracing many devotional art forms.

Now, we’ve taken a step further with devotional music album production. If you come to us with a spiritual idea, we help shape it fully - from scratch to studio. Our core is Sopana Sangeetham album creation, which is not something you’ll hear everywhere. Each song carries the feel of Kerala’s temples, with all the emotion and respect it deserves.
Our Approach
- We help you lock in the theme and concept for your album, no matter how vague or detailed your idea is.
- Lyrics and music? All original, mostly crafted in-house by our founder Dheeraj Edat and our artists.
- Singers, instrumentalists and even senior students from our Kalavadhyam Kudumbam (family) join in.
- Every technical bit - recording, mixing, mastering - done with care so it sounds professional, not artificial.
- If you want, we can do spiritual album video production too, from promo clips to full-length videos.

Kalavadhyam
My Story
Namaskaram, we are Kalavadhyam. For us, this is not just a group, it’s a gurukulam, a family. We started in Bangalore with just oru cheriya spark (a small spark) to keep Kerala’s chenda alive here. Now, 800+ students, some even performing at Thrissur Pooram and big temples. Our hearts swell seeing our 'sthree saannidhyam' (female presence) on stage. Tradition is our backbone, guided by legendary aashans. Kalavaadyathinte paarambaryam (our tradition) will live through our next gen. Culture, tradition, that’s us.
My Work
Performances & Classes - We perform Chenda Melam, Panchavadhyam for festivals and run Kalavadhyam Academy. Classes for chenda, ilathaalam, more.
Traditional Kerala Percussion Training - Our shyli is pure classical. Classes follow kshethra style, shaastriya shyli, keeping it real.
