Traditional Percussion Troupe

Artist Composition

Includes a team of 4 to 6 professional percussionists. You can select one specific art form: Punjabi Dhol, Kerala Chendemelam (Chende drums), or Dollu Kunita (Drum Dance).

Performance Details

Duration: 20-30 minutes of continuous performance.
Scope: Leads the couple or guests from the drop-off point to the main stage.
Audio: This is a loud acoustic performance; no external sound system is required.

Attire

Chende: Traditional white Mundu (dhoti) with sash (often bare-chested).
Dhol: Vibrant Kurtas with jackets and matching turbans.
Dollu Kunita: Folk costumes with decorative drum straps and ankle bells.

Includes transport of heavy instruments and artists within city limits.

Option A: 2 Heavy Costume Artists (Yakshagana, Kathakali, or Tiger Dance).

Visuals & Prep

Includes the rigorous 2-3 hour 'Chutti' (face painting) and costume draping session prior to the event. Features authentic headgears, voluminous skirts, or Kanjeevaram silk sarees.

Choreography

Slow-march procession leading the couple to the stage. Includes specific mudras (hand gestures) and pauses for key photo opportunities on the aisle.

Staffing

Includes 1-2 dedicated helpers to assist heavy-costume artists with dressing and mobility.

Theme Selection

Royal Deepam: Performers carry multi-tiered brass lamps (LED or oil based on venue rules).
Lotus: Dancers wear flower-petal costumes that bloom via hand movements.
Angel: Performers wear white gowns with feather wings.

Formation

A team of 6 to 8 female performers creates a symmetrical aisle on both sides of the couple.

Styling

Features uniform hairstyles, matching jewelry, and identical costumes to ensure perfect visual symmetry.

Execution

Artists perform a welcome gesture at the entrance and walk alongside or ahead of the couple to the stage.

4 Live Musicians (Chende or Dhol).

Provides a 360-degree experience by combining the auditory power of live drums with the visual grandeur of costumed dancers.

Orchestration

Structured entry where dancers lead, heavy characters flank the couple, and musicians pilot the formation. Includes an on-site coordinator to manage cueing.

Includes usage of traditional parasols (Muthukoda) or cold fire sparklers held by specific dancers.

Traditional Vibes: If you love the idea of a royal welcome, I can arrange Yakshagana artists (with their huge headgear and full-on Karnataka theatre drama) or Bharatanatyam dancers who glide you in, looking like poetry. If you want a mix, I’ll bring together Mohiniyattam dancers with Deepams and bold Yakshagana performers for a visual treat.
Modern With Heart: Maybe you prefer a blooming lotus routine or an aisle shimmering with oil lamps – both are magical. I also do angelic fusion entries, where angel-costumed artists join Deepam dancers for a unique, almost surreal feel.
Full-On Celebration: Want a wedding entrance that pumps up the crowd? Nothing like a Punjabi Dhol procession or the thundering Chendemelam ensemble from Kerala. Or go for a Dollu Kunita drum dance – pure energy, full-on folk dance wedding entrance style.
