Before adding a single planter, I assess your roof’s weight capacity and verify that existing drainage points are clear. A garden is only as good as its foundation, and I ensure your terrace handles the greenery without any waterlogging or structural strain.
Turning Rooftops Into Useable Spaces
I have spent over three decades working across Delhi NCR—from villas in Noida to apartments at The Verandas in Gurugram and homes in GK1. My approach to residential landscaping isn't just about placing pots; it's about making your outdoor space a functional room that survives our local weather.
The Process
- Site Assessment: I personally visit your space to check the existing floor level, sunlight exposure, and drainage. If you are doing a roof installation, weight management is critical. I use lightweight coco-peat enriched soil mixes to keep the load off your roof structure.
- Flooring & Edging: For artificial lawns, I use 35-40mm high-density grass that is UV-resistant. I pair this with stone borders using river rocks to keep the drainage channels open.
- Vertical & Structural Elements: When floor space is limited, I use vertical green walls. For larger villas, I build custom MS-framed pergolas or WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) decking to create defined seating zones that feel like an extension of your indoor living area.
Material Selection
I prefer using Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) or stone planters for residential projects. They handle the Delhi heat better than cheap plastic and look better as they age. Whether you want a low-maintenance setup with artificial turf or a lush, natural garden with tall palms and bougainvillea, we choose plants that can actually thrive in your specific micro-climate.
