At our Sanpada akhada, we build strength the old-school way. From tire flips to rassi chadhai, our conditioning drills are designed to create the explosive power you need for both the pit and the mat.

Strength training is a vital part of our routine. Here, a wrestler focuses on building arm and shoulder strength with weight training, essential for powerful grips and holds.

A wrestler practices throwing techniques with a grappling dummy. This allows for repeated practice of powerful moves like suplexes and throws without risking injury to a partner.

Teamwork and strength combined. Our wrestlers perform a creative and challenging four-person push-up drill, building core strength and camaraderie after a tough practice.

Outdoor partner-resisted exercises are a great way to build functional strength. These drills simulate the forces experienced during a real wrestling match.

The tire flip is a classic exercise for developing full-body explosive power. This raw strength training is a staple for building the physical dominance required in Kusti.

Two wrestling buddies training together as the sun sets. The dedication to Kusti extends beyond the akhada, with partners pushing each other to get stronger every day.

About Building Pailwans: Strength & Conditioning

Don't expect fancy gym machines here. Our conditioning is all about raw, functional movement. We use desi equipment like Gada, tractor tires, and 20ft ropes to build the grip and stamina that actually matter when you are in the pit. It is hard work, but this is the foundation that keeps our pailwans injury-free and explosive.
