We teach wrestling as a life skill, not just a sport. Our youth batches in Sanpada build discipline, focus, and physical fitness through traditional and modern techniques.

Fun and fundamentals go hand in hand. Our young students learn basic rolling and tumbling drills, which are essential for safety and agility in wrestling.

Training the mind is as important as training the body. The kids' batch concludes their session with group meditation, learning to cool down, focus, and find inner calm.

"Ek roll, ek sapati!" The coach instructs the kids' batch as they practice a combination of rolls and the traditional 'sapati' (a type of burpee), building coordination and explosive power.

Coach Sandip Dalavi leads the youth batch in 'jump sapatis'. This conditioning drill is a signature part of Kusti training, building the stamina needed for long bouts.

Police Sub-Inspector Devidas Damale shares words of encouragement with our young wrestlers. He speaks about how the discipline and fitness from Kusti benefit you in all walks of life, including a career in the police force.

About Our Young Champions: Kids & Youth Batches

Our kids' batches start with fundamental movement, rolling, tumbling, and basic stretches before they ever step onto the mat for a bout. We focus on coordination and balance first, ensuring they build a safe physical foundation under NIS-certified guidance.

At Jai Hanuman Kusti Akhada, we believe in starting young to build a strong foundation of discipline and physical literacy. Wrestling is a demanding sport, and our approach with younger students, both boys and girls, is to prioritize safety and technique over raw competition.

The Training Routine

Every session is structured to be engaging and safe. We start with warm-ups that include group drills and agility exercises. Instead of jumping straight into sparring, we emphasize 'Pailwani' fundamentals like rolling, tumbling, and squat variations. This builds the coordination and body awareness required for mat and mud wrestling. We also incorporate group meditation at the end of sessions, which helps kids develop focus and learn to cool down after intense physical activity.

Why Start Young?

Many parents ask if it is too early to begin. We see it as building character. Whether it is learning to take a fall correctly or respecting a partner during drills, these habits stick. We train on both modern blue mats and traditional 'lal mati' (red soil) to give our students a well-rounded experience. Our head coach, Sandip Dalavi, brings his NIS certification and years of competitive experience to every single class, ensuring that the techniques taught follow proper athletic standards.

What Parents Need to Know

We operate with a supportive community mindset. If you are in Sanpada or the surrounding areas of Navi Mumbai, bring your child for a trial. We provide the space, the equipment, and the mentorship. You provide the commitment. The goal is not to produce a winner in every match, but to build a fitter, more disciplined individual who carries these life lessons long after they leave the akhada.
