Mastering Batting Technique at Inningstar Academy
Batting isn't just about big hits. It’s about balance, focus, and knowing exactly where your bat is in space. We train you to be stable at the crease, ready for any delivery.
A steady head and perfect balance are crucial for any batter. This is a simple drill I use to improve a player's body balance and hand eye coordination, ensuring they watch the ball right onto the bat.
The cover drive is a beautiful shot, and it all starts with good footwork. Here, one of our young players, Pari, practices a drive drill using cones to guide her movement and bat path.
Here are our junior stars, Maahila and Aashwi, putting in the work during a net session. It's amazing to see their focus and determination at such a young age. The future of women's cricket is bright.
We often do group drills to build muscle memory for the correct batting stance. Having everyone practice together creates a focused energy and helps reinforce the fundamentals of a strong, stable base.
Sometimes you have to be a little crazy to get results. Normal is boring for me. This unconventional drill on an uneven surface is designed to sharpen a player's reflexes and ability to adapt to any situation.
About Mastering Batting Technique
We don’t just train on perfect astro-turf. Using uneven surfaces and target cones, we push you to adapt your footwork and balance, so you’re ready for any pitch condition you face in a real match. It’s not about making it easy; it’s about making you reliable.
Technique is your foundation. Whether you are holding a bat for the first time or prepping for high-stakes MCA selection trials, our batting curriculum focuses on the fundamentals that make a solid player. We start with the basics—grip, stance, and head position—before moving to advanced shot-making.
How We Train
We believe in active, repetitive learning. You won’t find us standing around.
- Cone Drills: We use target cones to teach you how to play in the 'V' and maintain a proper bat path.
- Video Analysis: For our intermediate and elite programs, we record your batting action. Seeing your own backlift and trigger movement is the fastest way to correct bad habits.
- Adaptability: Our outdoor grounds and dirt pitches are intentionally used to test your reflexes. If you can bat on a tricky dirt pitch in Kharghar, you can bat anywhere.
Programs for Everyone
- Foundation Batch: Perfect for kids and beginners. We use soft and wind balls to help you get comfortable without the fear of impact.
- Intermediate Training: This is where we transition to leather balls. We focus on backlift, load-up, and playing straight, utilizing 3-4 days a week of intensive net practice.
- Elite Professional Program: For those serious about competitive cricket. We simulate match pressure, work on field setting, and refine your spin and pace variations.
We keep our batches controlled—about 15 to 20 students per net—so that when you are in the middle, you get the feedback you actually need. Hard work is non-negotiable here. If you are ready to put in the hours, we are ready to build you into a batter who commands the crease.
Inningstar Cricket Academy
I am the head coach here, and I don't believe in 'normal' training. We focus on building real, solid technique from the ground up, whether you're a beginner learning to grip the bat or a player prepping for selection trials.
