Whether you are fixing your backlift or mastering the reverse sweep, technique is the bedrock of every innings. At Centurion Cricket Academy, we strip your game down to the basics to ensure your foundation is rock solid.

Playing the ball late, right under the eyes, is a crucial skill. This drill focuses on exactly that, with no foot movement, to build pure timing, shoulder alignment, and a solid backlift. It is all about control.

We build shots step-by-step. This progressive cut shot drill starts with single-handed control to get the feel right, then moves to the full shot. This method sharpens balance, intent, and placement with every repetition.

This one-handed batting drill is tougher than it looks. It forces the player to develop better balance, a stronger lead arm, and finer bat control. It is not about power, it is about precision and building muscle memory for correct technique.

Here, I am working with Harry on his range hitting. The focus is on extending the arms fully and hitting over the bowler's head with a stable base. Simple, direct feedback like 'don't walk' helps lock in the technique.

To become a complete batsman, you must adapt to any surface. Here, we use plastic balls on tiles to master short balls and drives. This unconventional training sharpens reflexes and teaches players to adjust quickly.

Here is a focused session with a young talent from Hong Kong, sharpening his front-foot drives. We work on getting the balance right, ensuring a full follow-through, and hitting with precision, not just power.

The backfoot punch is a fundamental shot for any top-order batsman. In this session, I am working with a young player on timing, control, and body positioning to execute the punch with confidence and power.

Harry, a 14-year-old from Hong Kong, is here to grind. We are working on his back foot punch, polishing his technique and timing. It is this intense, focused process that turns raw potential into real performance.

Playing a left-arm spinner requires a specific skill set. Here, I am giving dedicated one-on-one time to a batsman to improve his backfoot game, focusing on picking the length early and positioning correctly.

In a one-on-one net session, the focus is intense. I am working with this batsman on watching the ball closely, respecting the good deliveries, and putting away the bad ones. It is about building confidence through clear feedback.

About Mastering Batting Technique

Small adjustments are what separate a good player from a consistent one. I don't just watch you bat; I use video analysis to break down your biomechanics—from head alignment to your lead arm—until your technique becomes muscle memory. It is about building a foundation that holds up when the match pressure is high, not just hitting big shots.
