About Active Bodies, Calm Minds
At Inaaya, we don't see restlessness as a problem—it is just energy waiting for a direction. That is why our routine includes deliberate transitions: we might start with the high-intensity movement of a martial arts session or an obstacle course, and then immediately guide the children into 'silent walking' or a gentle yoga stretch. It teaches them to listen to their own bodies, helping them learn how to switch gears from active play to focus and calm on their own.
For a child, the ability to regulate their energy is just as important as learning their ABCs. In our bungalow setting here in DLF Phase 1, we prioritize 'Active Bodies, Calm Minds' to help kids develop this self-regulation early on.
Why the Balance Matters
We often see children arrive with a lot of kinetic energy. Instead of asking them to sit still, we provide outlets like martial arts and gross-motor obstacle courses. Once their bodies are satisfied, they are naturally more receptive to mindfulness. This isn't about teaching strict yoga poses; it is about building body awareness through techniques like silent walking or 'zen' breathing.
What to Expect
- Physical Outlets: Our sessions include martial arts for discipline and focus, outdoor frisbee and ball games for coordination, and obstacle challenges for problem-solving.
- Mindful Transitions: We use 'silent walking' and kid-friendly yoga to bring the heart rate down, fostering a sense of peacefulness that lasts long after the session ends.
- The Result: A child who learns to understand their own 'volume'—knowing when to be loud and adventurous, and when to be quiet and observant.
We find that children who practice this transition are more patient during daily tasks like meals or homework. They aren't just playing; they are building the focus they will need when they eventually step into primary school.
Inaaya
We are here to provide the kind of early environment we would want for our own children. Our team focuses on the whole child—moving bodies, thinking minds, and happy hearts—in a space that feels like an extension of your living room.
