Pool Recovery Sessions for Runners
Running hard is only half the game. Our pool recovery sessions give your joints a break, using the buoyancy of water to flush out fatigue so you can hit the track again without the pain.
Our pool sessions are a key part of our recovery program, especially during special events like 'With Women We Run'. The water provides a gentle, effective way to help muscles recover.
Nothing beats the feeling of a cool pool after a hard workout. These sessions are as much about community bonding as they are about physical recovery, with lots of smiles and shared encouragement.
About Pool Recovery Sessions
Pool sessions aren't just for cooling down. The natural resistance and buoyancy of water allow us to work through active recovery and range-of-motion drills without the high-impact stress of the track or road. Whether you are dealing with tight IT bands or just need to reset after a heavy marathon training week, these sessions help you manage inflammation and keep your legs moving freely.
Recovery is non-negotiable if you want to run year after year. While many runners focus only on mileage, I make sure we dedicate time to the work that happens off the road.
Why Pool Recovery?
High-impact running creates micro-trauma in muscles and joints. My pool recovery sessions, often held at Lakshyan Academy of Sports in Sarjapur, take the weight off your frame. The water provides gentle compression and resistance that helps improve circulation and reduces muscle soreness faster than passive rest.
Community & Movement
These sessions are a core part of our 'With Women We Run' (WWWR) initiative, where we create safe, inclusive spaces for women to train. It is not just about the swim; it is about the camaraderie. You are training alongside the Adidas Runners Bengaluru crew, sharing the same goal: showing up, doing the work, and staying injury-free.
What to Expect
We keep these sessions structured but varied. You don't need to be a swimmer to participate. We focus on:
- Low-impact movement patterns
- Mobility work in the water
- Active recovery to clear lactic acid
- Mental reset after intense training blocks
Consistency is the key. If you are struggling with recurring tightness or want to extend your running life, adding aquatic recovery to your routine is the best decision you can make.
