Modern Indian & South Indian Home Interiors in Bengaluru

I blend contemporary living with the soul of South Indian tradition. Think red oxide floors, carved wood, and Kalamkari art tailored for your modern home.

The 'Brihati' project was a journey in strengthening my belief in our skills and the magic that happens with a supportive client. This home is a true example of contemporary South Indian design, filled with warmth and tradition.

I love creating partitions that define a space without closing it off. Here, a wooden arch with colorful Channapatna pillars separates the living area, adding an element of traditional craft. The design allows for a clear view of the custom Kalamkari art, blending art and architecture seamlessly.

The color palette for this living room was all about celebrating minimalism with warm, earthy tones from the traditional Indian palette. The custom-painted Kalamkari art, leather sofa, and 'velaku' inspired side table come together to create a cozy, sophisticated space.

The private foyer of the 'Brihati' home welcomes you with the warmth of brick, oxide walls, and vintage-inspired furniture. I took the traditional 'kolam' and gave it an unconventional twist by mounting a larger-than-life version on the ceiling, creating an immediate sense of arrival.

The parents' bedroom in the 'Brihati' project is a deep dive into Chettinad character. The bed wall is clad in veneer with tin tiles as a backdrop, and the custom bed features intricate carving. It’s a space rich in texture and traditional motifs.

This is one of my favorite spots, where we turned a simple wall into a piece of family history. The client’s mother’s wedding saree is framed as art, and it blends so beautifully with the custom console table. It’s these personal touches that make a house a home.

This partition, featuring Channapatna pillars, separates the formal living area while maintaining an open feel. The daybed and curved shelving create a quiet nook, showcasing how traditional elements can be integrated into a modern, functional layout.

About this collection

When we integrate traditional elements like red oxide or Chettinad pillars, the real work happens in the site supervision. It is not just about the look; it is about ensuring these materials are cured and finished properly to handle daily life in a modern apartment. We do not just design for the final reveal; we build these spaces to age gracefully, balancing heritage aesthetics with the low-maintenance reality of today's homes.

My design philosophy centers on the idea that your home should be a reflection of your own history. In our Modern Indian projects, we move away from standard 'trendy' solutions and look at how traditional craftsmanship fits into a functional floor plan.

Take the 'Brihati' project, for instance. We were faced with a space that needed to feel light and airy but still hold the weight of traditional Chettinad motifs. We used a wooden arch with Channapatna pillars as a separator. It defines the living zone without chopping up the room, keeping the site open and breathable.

We love using red oxide flooring for that authentic, earthy feel, but we pair it with contemporary brass hardware and clean lines. This prevents the house from feeling like a museum and ensures it functions as a home. Whether it is framing a client's mother’s wedding saree as a feature wall or sourcing antique doors to serve as a dramatic entrance, we focus on the pieces that ground you.

Our process is highly collaborative. If you are looking for a space that values soul over flashiness, we should talk. We handle everything from the initial 3D space planning to the final site inspections, ensuring the vision we sketch on paper is exactly what gets built on-site.
