We blend the warmth of traditional South Indian architecture with modern, light-filled living spaces. Think courtyards, natural stone, and quiet nooks designed for your personal stories.

This living area features a modern take on the traditional 'thinnai' or raised verandah seating. The curved, built-in bench is paired with patterned floor tiles and woven pendant lights for a look that is both contemporary and classic.

A view from the dining area into the living room, framed by two traditional wooden pillars. This is a signature element I use to demarcate space while adding a touch of South Indian architectural history.

A tranquil outdoor alcove designed for a Ganesha statue. The space uses a combination of terracotta jali screens, laterite stone, and lush greenery to create a modern yet sacred-feeling shrine.

An internal courtyard that acts as the home's sanctum. The design uses brick planters, slate flooring, and open-to-sky elements to create a peaceful, green oasis that brings nature right into the heart of the house.

A close-up of the sunken seating area, showing the comfortable cushions and the beautiful patterned tiles. This space is perfect for informal family gatherings, echoing the communal spaces of traditional homes.

At night, the sunken seating area is transformed by concealed LED lighting along the curved wooden edge. This highlights the architectural form and creates a warm, inviting ambiance.

A moment of quiet contemplation in a space inspired by traditional architecture, featuring antique pillars and an open-air courtyard. These elements connect us to the past and ground the home in a sense of place.

A carved wooden frame, reminiscent of an old doorway, is used here as a decorative mirror frame. It sits next to a lush indoor planter, blending traditional craft with the tropical aesthetic.

A person arranging cushions in a living space defined by traditional wooden pillars. This image shows how these historical elements are integrated into a modern, functional home.

The curved wooden form elegantly separates the tiled puja area from the rest of the living space. The design is a bold, sculptural statement that is also deeply functional.

About Modern Heritage

We often integrate reclaimed wooden pillars to subtly define your living and dining areas, providing a sense of history without closing off the space. This approach allows us to keep the floor plan open and airy while introducing a tactile, grounded element that makes a house feel like it has been yours for generations.

Designing a modern home with heritage roots is about finding balance. We work with materials that age gracefully, such as Kota stone, Jaisalmer yellow stone, and raw brick, to ensure your interiors feel connected to the environment. Our design process prioritizes climate-responsive features like skylights and courtyards, which not only bring in natural light but also improve ventilation, making your home feel alive throughout the day.

The sunken seating areas you see in our gallery are a nod to traditional conversation pits. We reimagine these spaces for contemporary needs, creating a comfortable, grounded spot for family gatherings or solitary coffee breaks. By pairing these with clean lines and soft, neutral palettes, we ensure the house remains functional and clutter-free.

Whether you are planning a complete renovation or a new build in Bengaluru or Hyderabad, our focus remains on the feeling of the space. We want to create corners where you can find solitude and rooms that invite connection. If you are interested in blending cultural elements like traditional tiles or carved wood frames into a modern apartment or villa, let us walk you through how we can adapt these forms to fit your lifestyle.
