Client Conversations and Nutrition Insights

These aren't scripted lectures. They are snippets from my actual conversations with people who, like you, often feel overwhelmed by the constant noise about superfoods and miracle diets.

A snippet from a conversation with a patient who tried a "wellness shot" and got diarrhea. You don't need detox drinks. Your body detoxifies best with easily digestible food, rest, and consuming herbs in their time-tested, traditional forms.

A client asked about colostrum powder. I explained that colostrum is a traditional food we consume very rarely, maybe once or twice a year. Consuming it as a concentrated daily powder is not a good idea, especially for those with weak digestion.

I work with a surprising number of chefs who suffer from poor health due to their demanding jobs. This is a snippet of a conversation highlighting the sacrifices they make. Putting hot, delicious food on the table day after day is no small feat.

About this collection

When you work with me, we do not start with a rigid list of 'yes' and 'no' foods. We start by unpacking your daily habits, the cultural context of what you eat, and why popular wellness trends often fail to address your specific body's needs. My goal is to help you understand your own physiology so you can make sustainable choices.

Cutting Through the Wellness Noise

We are constantly bombarded with trends. One week it is colostrum powder, the next it is a specific type of turmeric shot. In these conversations, you will notice that I rarely say a blanket 'never eat this.' Instead, I ask the more important question: 'Is this necessary for your body right now?'

Why Context is Everything

A trend might work for a fitness influencer, but it might wreak havoc on someone with weak digestion or a specific medical condition. For example, when I speak with chefs, we do not talk about generic 'clean eating.' We talk about how to manage their body’s stress response given their intense work hours.

My Approach

My role is to bridge the gap between your metabolic health and the lifestyle you actually lead. Whether we are discussing insulin resistance, thyroid health, or why you are constantly bloated, I pull from my clinical training at King’s College London and the traditional food wisdom I grew up with in Malnad.

We focus on:

  • Understanding Symptoms: Why your body reacts the way it does to specific foods.
  • Practical Nutrition: How to eat for your body without spending hours in the kitchen.
  • Myth-Busting: Why 'detox' drinks are rarely the answer your body needs.

If you are tired of being told what you must do and want to understand what actually works for you, let us start a conversation.

I am Poorvi. My clinic in Banashankari is less of a sterile consultation space and more of a place to rethink how we eat. I spent years studying clinical nutrition, but the real wisdom comes from blending that science with what my ajji taught me about food as medicine.
