Health Reflections & Nutrition Insights
A collection of my musings on wellness, food philosophy, and evidence-based nutrition that goes beyond standard, restrictive advice.
Chia seeds can actually worsen constipation if you don't drink enough water. They absorb water from the gut, so if you're dehydrated, the excess fiber can cause blockages. Hydration is key.
A reminder that if your stress levels are through the roof, it will impact your health, no matter what diet you're on. Chronic stress leads to inflammation, which is the root cause of most diseases. Managing stress is non-negotiable.
An infographic series exploring the differences between modern medicine (Allopathy) and holistic systems (AYUSH). I discuss their different approaches to diagnosis and treatment, and why both are needed for comprehensive healthcare.

About this collection
I believe health is not about rigid charts or miracle supplements, but about understanding the intersection of modern science and our traditional food roots. When I share my thoughts here, it is usually to address common gaps I see in clinical practice, like why your hydration habits might make fiber-rich seeds cause bloating, or how stress impacts your progress regardless of your diet choices.
Bridging Science and Tradition
My practice in Banashankari is built on a simple premise: modern nutrition science and traditional wisdom, like that passed down from my ajji, need to coexist. Whether I am discussing why your morning coffee might be beneficial or why local seasonal fruits like custard apple are immunity boosters, I look for the evidence behind the practice.
Why I Focus on Myths
The wellness industry is incredibly noisy. You will find that I often address common misconceptions, such as the obsession with imported 'superfoods' or the fear-mongering around certain food groups. My goal is to simplify these topics so you can make informed decisions. You do not need expensive, obscure ingredients to be healthy when our own local and seasonal foods offer so much nutritional value.
Real Conversations and Transparency
I also use this space to reflect on the patterns I see with clients. If I talk about the green flags of a good nutrition program, it is because I want you to feel empowered. You should be able to know when a system is designed for your success versus when it is merely preying on your motivation. Health is a long-term journey, not a 30-day challenge. My approach centers on behavioral modification, helping you understand your body signals, and teaching you how to use your own kitchen to heal. If you want a plan that is sustainable, rooted in reality, and kind to your system, that is what we will work toward.
