The Beauty of the Stain: Deep and Rich Natural Mehndi

Many clients ask how I get the colour so deep. It starts with the paste, which I mix using essential oils like clove and eucalyptus to help the stain oxidize and darken. I avoid the chemical-heavy cones found in stores because they can be harsh on sensitive skin.

Once the mehndi is applied, the aftercare is on you. I apply a lemon-sugar sealant spray while I am there to keep the paste on the skin longer, but you need to resist the urge to wash it off early. Let it flake off naturally. The stain will start as a bright orange and oxidize over the next 24 to 48 hours to reach its peak deep brown or maroon colour.

If you are planning for a wedding or a major festival, I recommend getting your henna done two days before the main event. This gives the colour enough time to fully mature, ensuring you have the darkest, most vibrant stain when you walk into the function. Whether you want a light, minimalist vine or a full bridal hand, the depth of colour remains my priority.
